A photography trip to Japan
Join us on a photography expedition to the fascinating and beautiful Kyoto region.
Travelling as a small group of photographers, we will transfer between each location in our private vehicle (with plenty of space to carry all of our gear!)

Day 1
- Check-in and welcome
- Meals Included: Dinner
Day 2
- On our first morning we will explore the large temple of Tofukuji; and the unique gardens of Hoji.
- In the afternoon we explore the main shrine of Heian-Jingu where the cherry blossom should be spectacular.
- Meals Included: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner
Day 3
- We spend the morning at Fushimi Inari where we will observe Shinto priests praying and build an understanding of the traditions and rituals. This is a location that was used in the filming of the movie Memoirs of a Geisha, so may feel familiar.
- This is a great day for immersing ourselves in the day-to-day life of this bustling city - we will avoid the tourists and discover the hidden Kyoto.
- In the evening we walk through the Gion area known for its geisha traditions but also for its distinctive wooden buildings. We try and spot the difference between Geiko and Maiko.
- Meals included: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner
Day 4
- Today we visit the temple of Nanzenji and learn about the significance of the dragon water gods.
- Following lunch we visit Shimogamo and the Mitarai River with some time also spent exploring the Kyoto Imperial Palace
- Today we explore rural Ohara - a beautiful small village surrounded by green mountains.
- We will also visit the small temple known as Jakkoin which is also a nunnery. The path to this picturesque temple is beautiful.
